What was your biggest challenge prior to starting your journey with Tarran?
I have been a yo-yo dieter for quite some time and have been on a number of ‘quick loss’ plans, Keto, Paleo, Sure-Slim (the list is long) and also had gastric sleeve surgery to try and help with this. I really was in a never ending cycle of gaining weight and losing it. Even with the surgery my weightloss was very up and down, and quite slow.
How has this changed?
Tarran set me on a straight path with my calorie intake and macros, as I really had no idea how much protein or calories I should be consuming. Tarran’s way has helped me to start seeing results instantly, how to manage my calorie intake on a daily basis and to be able to plan my food around my lifestyle. I don’t feel like I am ‘on a diet’ at all and I honestly feel that what I am doing is sustainable (for the first time in my life), that I have a handle on food, while eating the food I enjoy. It’s very freeing and I no longer feel guilty over what I eat.
How would you describe your past mindset towards fitness and nutrition?
Having been a yo-yo dieter I always believed carbs were bad, fats were good and treats/sugar were to be avoided. Not with Tarran… and it bloody works. I had previously spent hours doing cardio, trying to be in a calorie deficit to lose the weight but felt like if I just looked at food then it would find its way to my hips. I was on a vicious unhealthy cycle of gaining weight, then losing the weight, until I then gave up completely on my nutrition and exercise as it all seemed too hard in the end. I really felt horrible physically and mentally.
How has this changed?
I feel as though I have had to ‘unlearn’ a lot of what I have been told, or picked up from social media, in relation to nutrition and exercise. Tarran’s programme has peeled back all the ‘bullshit’ that is out there. She has made it quite simple, less confusing, and it really is quite easy once you get into the programme and embrace it. I was really surprised at how quickly I started to feel stronger very quickly, am no longer pre-diabetic, pretty much off all medication including antidepressants, more energy and sleeping so much better. I now attend the gym four days a week, which I love (previously hated the gym) and am even thinking of committing to five days a week. I am having so many ‘non scale victories’, which make you feel great, as well as seeing the scale moving downwards and my measurements dropping. I am feeling absolutely amazing.
What inspired you to start coaching with Tarran?
I had met Tarran on two separate occasions and then started following her on her social media. She’s pretty impressive. Tarran just radiates warmth and is such a kind and very genuine person who truly cares about her clients. She also wants you to achieve your goals and she really does know her stuff (and I mean seriously knows her stuff). What more could you ask for? So, if you are reading this, then it is a sign to go with Tarran to change your body and life.
What have you enjoyed the most about Tarran’s coaching?
How simple Tarran has made it all. It has been so clear and easy to understand. The workouts I am really enjoying. It also feels very sustainable. I love that my workouts change regularly and the variety of these.
What do you consider to be your top achievement during your journey so far?
Doing workouts that I didn’t think I could do…. but smashing it anyway. Overcoming my fear of the gym. Committing to the journey and believing in myself again. Thank you Tarran. 🙂
Would you recommend my coaching to others? And if so why?
Definitely would recommend. So accessible, Tarran’s approach and so relatable.
